People and Partners of SALT
Partners from South Africa, Poland, the United States, Germany, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and India have made the construction and operation of SALT possible, using both private and public funds.
The construction team were based at the SALT FOUNDATION headquarters located at the South African Astronomical Observatory complex in Cape Town. They commenced work on the project in January 2000 and the SALT/SAAO operations team commenced operations in late 2005.
