Hannah Worters

Standby SALT Operator/Astronomer (or, as she prefers to be known, Standby SALT Operonomer!)

Hannah is the first Resident Astronomer in Sutherland in the history of the observatory!  Her research interests include accretion in recurrent novae, flaring on post T Tauri stars and the very late helium flash phenomenon.  As well as SALT and the SAAO telescopes, she has observed with the CTIO 1.5-m in Chile, Gemini North in Hawaii and the JKT, INT and WHT on La Palma.

In her spare time, Hannah enjoys hiking, climbing, mountain biking and scuba diving, and is restoring her second classic VW Beetle.
