Hendrik Schalekamp

Software Engineer
Hendrik was born in the North West Province, but grew up in the Free State, Zimbabwe, Gauteng and Pennsylvania (USA). After finishing his high school studies in Gauteng he did a B. Sc (Computer Science & Mathematics) at the Randse Afrikaanse Universiteit where he appeared in the top 10 first years and achieved the class medal in Computer Science 2.

After backpacking around Egypt, the Netherlands and England he moved down to Cape Town. At the University of Cape Town he achieved a First in B.Sc.Hons (Mathematics & Applied Mathematics). He is currently putting the final touches to his M.Sc (Mathematics) specialising in Universal Algebra and Mathematical Logic.

Prior to SALT Hendrik worked in the telecommunications industry as a software engineer. His interests include cooking, dancing, Tai Chi and recreating the middle ages in the Society for Creative Anachronism.
