Sibusiso Clifford Gumede

Sibusiso, often known as Clifford was born in Umlazi, a township near Durban on the sub-tropical east coast of South Africa. He attended school in Umlazi and went on to complete his National Higher Diploma in electrical engineering at the Natal Technikon in Durban in 1992.

Clifford worked for Eskom, the national electricity supply company in South Africa in the Power Systems Protection and Control Department, also in Durban.

Having received a scholarship with the British Council to study at Coventry University in UK, he studied for a degree majoring in control system engineering, completing his studies in 1996.

Following his stint in the UK, he worked for Lyttelton Engineering Works (LEW), a division of Denel (in Pretoria), until joining SALT in 2000.

Most importantly though, he married Dudu after joining the SALT Project Team.
